Prenatal care typically begins at the 12th week of pregnancy or sooner if you desire. The first appointment is scheduled for one hour and subsequent appointments are 30 to 60 minutes. The mother and family or labor support come in once a month until 28 weeks, twice a month until 36 weeks, and then every week until the baby is born. On an average we see a woman 11 times during her pregnancy. If extra visits are needed, no problem. The visits consist of Mother’s weight, blood pressure, assessing baby well being, and discussing any concerns. If there are health concerns, we stay with Mother and Baby to facilitate safe proper transfer of care to the appropriate medical personnel. If you are traveling to us from out of town/ state/ country, we work with your health care providers to assure a smooth transfer of care to us.
