We offer you the appropriate post partum care from a provider, however a Post partum Doula is a wonderful option to help in the transition to mother/parenthood. She helps with nursing support, cooking, laundry, dishes, etc. and is an unbiased shoulder of support. Simply ask and we can supply you with referrals to a couple of lovely options in Bozeman, but also in Helena, Dillon, & Butte. If you live out of area no need to worry, we have options for follow-up care until you are ready to travel.
As for the postpartum care offered by The Birth Center, both mother and baby are observed and nutured for a healthful bounce back after birth. That is why we do home visits. You will see us in your home @ 24 hours after birth, on day three, and when needed day five. The seventh day visit then brings you back into the office.
If any areas of concern arise, you are simply scheduled for more visits.
The one month visit is a routine visit to check in on baby’s weight and growth and mother’s healing from birth and her emotional well being.
Lastly, the two month visit is a Pap smear and well woman exam to make sure your body has healed well from birth. It also is a transitional appointment regarding your baby’s care and finding a provider of your choice.
