Kathy exercises her talents at guiding a first time mom into motherhood.  We are extremely lucky to have Kathy in our presence and our clients have recieved her well.  Thank you Kathy for all you do!  We love you and our families are lucky to have you as their midwife, aswell.

On May 5th, 2010 a group of “Go Getters” met in Pray, MT at Chico Hotsprings to discuss topics relevant to Midwives in Montana.  It was a gathering of 16 women in all walks of life including me, a Practice Manager, a Doula, Midwife Apprentices, Licensed or Professional Midwives, and Nurse Midwives.  The group was loaded with power and wisdom and all are in support of Midwifery and women’s right to pick a care provider of their choice.  There was laughter and unity…what else could we ask for.  Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to next year at Fairmont Hot springs, May 5th, 2011…Spread the word because having 30 of us there is my goal.

The Bozeman Birth Center hosts Childbirth Education (CBE) classes four times a year.  There are relaxation techniques that are introduced by guest speaker, Heidi Soper, which are then applied to an interative relaxation exercise.  The CBE classes are designed to work with you and your partner during your pregnancy in hopes to prepare you for labor, delivery, and early parenting.

Birth at the Bozeman Birth Center may not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it does have a lot of observation and compassion from your midwife.  During this water birth, Mikelann is giving the laboring mother the time she needs to get here baby here.  All while never being far from the laboring mother’s side.  Mikelann doesn’t only offer two and a half decades worth of expereince, she also offers patience, wisdom, and guidance.  After a fruitful labor, baby girl Martin was welcomed by the loving hands of her Father, Midwife, and Grandmother.
